  • Medicine Name: Anzupgo
  • API: Delgocitinib
  • Dosage Form & Strength: Cream: Each gram of cream contains 20 mg of delgocitinib
  • Manufactured By: LEO Laboratories Ltd

Medical Uses

Anzupgo (delgocitinib) cream is a topical pan-Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor used for the topical treatment of moderate to severe chronic hand eczema (CHE) in adults who have had an inadequate response to, or for whom, topical corticosteroids are not advisable. It inhibits the activation of JAK-STAT signaling, which plays a key role in the pathogenesis of CHE.

Limitations of Use: Use of this therapeutic drug in combination with other JAK inhibitors or potent immunosuppressants is not recommended.

Recommended Dosage:
The recommended dosage should not be more than 30 grams per 2 weeks or 60 grams per month. Prior to applying this cream, clean and dry the affected areas. Apply a thin layer of Anzupgo twice daily to the affected areas only on the hands and wrists. This therapeutic drug is for topical use only. Not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or other mucous membranes. If contact with mucous membranes occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.

Warning & Precautions

  • Treatment with Delgocitinib cream may increase the risk of serious infections, particularly in individuals with weak immunity. Avoid using the cream on infected skin areas. Report any fever, persistent cough, or unusual symptoms immediately. Your healthcare provider (HCP) may recommend monitoring for infection signs during treatment.
  • Rarely, use of this cream may be related to certain skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma. Regularly check your skin for any unusual growths, sores, or changes in moles, and report them promptly to your healthcare provider.
  • Avoid live vaccines while on treatment with Delgocitinib, as it may be responsible for reducing vaccine effectiveness or increasing infection risk. Discuss your past history of vaccination with your clinician before starting treatment. Inactivated vaccines may still be administered, but your doctor should determine based on your health condition.
  • Delgocitinib is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor, and its long-term use may predispose some patients to blood clots, particular malignancies, and cardiovascular events. Inform the doctor of the entire medical history prior to use. Some patients may require close observation in order to identify the complications early.
  • There is not much information available about the safety of this medicine during pregnancy. It should only be used if the potential benefit justifies possible risks to the unborn baby. Pregnant women should consult their healthcare provider (HCP) before starting or continuing treatment with this medicine.
  • It is not known if Delgocitinib passes into breast milk. To avoid any potential harm to a nursing baby, your clinician may advise avoiding breastfeeding while using the cream or stopping the medicine. Always discuss options with your healthcare provider (HCP) before deciding
