Chorea Associated with Huntington’s Disease: The initial dosage for Valbenazine is 40 mg orally once daily with or without food. Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not crush or chew them. Increase the dose in 20 mg increments every 2 weeks to the recommended dosage of 80 mg once daily. A dosage of 40 mg or 60 mg once daily may be considered based on response and tolerability.

• Treatment with Valbenazine may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts, depression, or actions in those with Huntington’s disease. Patients and caregivers must closely watch for mood changes and report signs and symptoms like hopelessness, sadness, or self-harming thoughts to the doctor quickly.
• Some patients may develop allergic reactions to Valbenazine, including itching, rash, swelling, or trouble breathing. In case any of these symptoms occur, stop the medicine immediately and seek medical help. Always let your doctor know about past allergic reactions to any therapeutic drugs.
• Valbenazine 40 mg/60 mg/80 mg may cause sleepiness or drowsiness, which can affect alertness. Do not drive, use machines, or do tasks requiring focus until they know how the medicine may affect them. Alcohol or other sedatives may be responsible for increasing this risk and must be avoided.
