Loargys (pegzilarginase-nbln) is an arginine-specific enzyme indicated for the treatment of hyperargininemia in adult and pediatric patients aged 2 years and older with Arginase 1 Deficiency (ARG1-D), in conjunction with dietary protein restriction.

Recommended Dosage:
The recommended starting dosage of Loargys is 0.1 mg/kg administered via intravenous (IV) infusion once weekly. For the recommended dosage, use actual body weight. After 8 weeks of once weekly intravenous injection, patients may be switched to once-weekly subcutaneous injection at the same dosage of intravenous therapy.
If a dose is missed, administer it as soon as possible. Do not administer two doses on the same day or within 4 days of another dose to make up for a missed dose. Ensure there is a minimum of 4 days between doses.

• Serious hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, may occur with Loargys injection. Monitor patients watchfully during and after administration for symptoms such as rash, swelling, breathing difficulty, or low blood pressure. Promptly stop treatment and provide appropriate medical care if reactions occur.
• There are limited data on the use of Loargys injection in pregnant women. It should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed, and the potential benefit justifies the possible risk to the fetus. Consult a healthcare professional before use.
• It is not known whether Loargys injection passes into human breast milk. Because of the potential for adverse effects in breastfed infants, breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment, or the drug should be avoided, based on clinical need and medical advice.
• The safety and effectiveness of Loargys injection in pediatric patients have not been fully established. Use of this drug in children should be carefully considered and only under strict medical supervision, weighing potential benefits against possible risks until more clinical data become available.
