Ojjaara (momelotinib) is a kinase inhibitor used for the treatment of intermediate or high-risk myelofibrosis (MF), including primary MF or secondary MF [postpolycythemia vera (PV) and post-essential thrombocythemia (ET)], in adults with anemia.
Recommended Dosage: The recommended dosage of Ojjaara is 200 mg orally once daily with or without food. Swallow tablets whole (don’t crush, cut, or chew). In case of a missed dose of Momelotinib, skip the missed dose and take the very next dose the following day at your regular time. Avoid taking 2 doses at the same time to make up for the missed dose.
- Serious (including fatal) infections (e.g., bacterial and viral, including COVID-19) may occur in patients treated with Ojjaara 100 mg/150 mg/200 mg. Delay starting treatment until active infections have resolved. Monitor patients receiving this medicine for signs and symptoms of infection and start suitable therapy promptly.
- Momelotinib can cause thrombocytopenia and neutropenia. Assess complete blood counts (CBC), including platelet and neutrophil counts, before starting therapy and periodically during therapy as clinically indicated. Interrupt dosing or reduce the dose for thrombocytopenia or neutropenia.
- New or worsening elevations of ALT and AST (all grades) may occur in patients treated with this medicine. Monitor liver tests at baseline, every month for six months during treatment, then periodically as clinically required. If increases in ALT, AST, or bilirubin related to treatment are suspected, modify dosage.
- Momelotinib may harm your unborn baby. Females who can become pregnant should use effective birth control (contraception) during treatment and for 1 week after the last dose of Momelotinib. Tell your doctor right away if you think you are pregnant or become pregnant during treatment with Momelotinib.
