Medical Uses

Cerezyme (imiglucerase) is a hydrolytic lysosomal glucocerebrosidase-specific enzyme used for the treatment of adults and pediatric patients aged 2 years and older with Type 1 Gaucher disease (GD-1) that results in one or more of the following conditions: thrombocytopenia, anemia, bone disease, hepatomegaly or splenomegaly.

Recommended Dosage: The recommended initial dosage of Cerezyme injection based on the severity of the disease ranges from 2.5 units/kg three times weekly to 60 units/kg once every 2 weeks. For patients weighing 18 kg and above, diluted Cerezyme solution should be infused over 1 to 2 hours. For patients weighing below 18 kg, diluted Cerezyme solution should be infused over 2 hours. The dosage of Cerezyme should be titrated based on clinical manifestations of the disease and therapeutic goals for the patient.

Warning & Precautions
