Medical Uses

GATTEX (teduglutide), from Takeda, is a GLP-2 analog indicated for adults and children 1 year and older with short bowel syndrome (SBS) who are dependent on parenteral (intravenous) nutrition support, to help improve intestinal absorption and reduce parenteral support needs.

Teduglutide promotes growth and repair of the intestinal lining and increases nutrient and fluid absorption, helping patients with SBS rely less on IV nutrition and hydration.
