Nubeqa is an androgen receptor inhibitor used for the treatment of patients with non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.
Recommended Dosage: The recommended dose is 600 mg (two 300 mg film-coated tablets) taken orally, twice daily, equivalent to a total daily dose of 1200 mg. Swallow pills whole with meals. Patients taking Nubeqa Tablets should also take a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog concurrently or should have had a bilateral orchiectomy.
Patients should take any missed dose as soon as they remember prior to the next scheduled dose, and not to take a couple of doses together in order to make up for a missed dose.
- Nubeqa contains lactose. Patients with rare hereditary complications of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid taking Nubeqa 300 mg tablets.
- In patients with a known history of risk factors for QT prolongation and in patients taking concomitant drugs that might prolong the QT interval, health specialists should evaluate the benefit-risk ratio including the potential for Torsade de pointes before initiating Nubeqa.
- The existing findings in patients with moderate hepatic impairment are limited, and the medicine darolutamide has not been assessed in patients with severe hepatic impairment. As exposure might be enhanced those patients should be precisely monitored for side effects.
