Siltuximab (marketed as Sylvant), from EUSA Pharma, is indicated for the treatment of patients with multicentric Castleman’s disease (MCD) who are HIV-negative and human herpesvirus-8 (HHV-8) negative.

Siltuximab is a monoclonal antibody that binds to and neutralizes interleukin-6 (IL-6), a cytokine that drives the abnormal lymph node growth and systemic symptoms characteristic of Castleman’s disease.

• May mask signs and symptoms of serious infections, including reducing fever and acute phase reactants such as C-reactive protein.
• Should not be administered to patients with severe infections until resolved.
• Gastrointestinal perforation has been reported; use caution in patients with a history of diverticulitis.
• Infusion-related reactions and hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
• May affect vaccine efficacy — live vaccines should be avoided during treatment.

What documents are required to import Siltuximab to India?
